LGBT+ History
Queer-inclusive Venue timeline
Timeline
An important aspect of strengthening the LGBT+ community was networking via various events. Gay bars, discoes, and other venues were places where Queer people could express their identity, as well as feel safe and welcomed while creating new friends and relationships. Despite assumptions, the ‘Granite City’ has had a lot more colourful scene than one might think.
